Brian "Brain" Mantia is a San Francisco based drummer
that has worked with many underground cult favorites. Whether you know him or not, you have probably heard his
work on the drums. He was a member of Primus for a few years and in fact was originally supposed to be their drummer way
back in the late 80s (he broke his foot skateboarding at the time, which won Tim "Herb" Alexander the gig). He
also joined Guns N Roses in 2000 and supported them on their infamous comeback tour.
But those are just the more mainstream artists he
has been involved with. He's also played with such legendary artists as Tom Waits, Bootsy Collins and Bernie Worrell (in Praxis),
Godflesh, Bill Laswell, and recently worked with Vanessa Carlton on her new album. He's also been involved with many projects
with Buckethead, a virtuoso guitarist known for wearing a white faceless mask and KFC chicken bucket on his head.
